George Michael and Kenny Goss flash their commitment rings in public show of togetherness

"George Michael and his long-term partner Kenny Goss put on a united front in London last night.

Two weeks after the gay couple were reported to have split, the pair showed they were still very much an item after 13 years together.

The former Wham! singer, 46, and the Texan gallery owner, 50, showed off their commitment rings as they enjoyed a romantic meal at Nobu Berkeley in Mayfair.

The couple were celebrating Goss's return to London after he spent months working in his native US at his gallery.

Leaving the Japanese eaterie last night, the pair were wearing gold bands on their wedding fingers, a symbol of their commitment to each other.

The pair have worn the rings for many years, but are yet to wed in a civil partnership ceremony.

Speaking before civil partnerships were made legal in 2005, Michael said he hoped to marry Goss in a private ceremony 'without the whole veil and gown thing'.

He said: 'We'll probably do it here, not abroad.'

The public show of togetherness last night follows reports they had secretly split last Christmas.

It had been claimed Goss called off the relationship after growing tired of the Careless Whisper singer's promiscuous behaviour and heavy drug use.

However, Michael's spokesperson told the MailOnline: 'There is no truth in the matter at all.

'Kenny has been away in Dallas where he owns a gallery but is scheduled to return home this Friday. They are planning a lovely weekend together.'

Michael is currently preparing to release his new Live In London DVD, which features behind the scenes footage of his Earl's Court concerts last year, on December 7.

Long-suffering Kenny finally walked out on George after 13 years together.

The final straw came when George, 46, was arrested in the toilets on Hampstead Heath and charged with possessing drugs last year.

Furious Kenny, 50, walked out at Christmas, but they kept their separation quiet as George begged him for another chance.

He refused to leave his house and became addicted to computer games. Then he shocked manager Andy by duetting with Beyonce at the O2 Arena in June without warning.

His irrational behaviour has become a cause of concern for his pals.

One said: “When Kenny left him, George wasn’t in the right frame of mind for anything. He seemed to become really depressed and no one could talk him out of it. He had promised to release a Live In London DVD of the tour but he couldn’t get it together to even look at clips of himself. Only now is he starting to get his head around it and is releasing it on December 7 – almost a year later.

“George would get up at 2pm, have a couple of spliffs, and play computer games until 7am, then do it all again the next day.

“His manager Andy couldn’t get through to him. And then he was absolutely furious when he found out he had driven himself to the O2 and got on stage with Beyonce.

“He tried to confront the star about it but George sacked him.

“George also has all these ideas about going back on the road – but no one knows if his state of mind will take it. The split has hit him hard.”"

O britânico acabou por ser libertado depois de quatro horas de interrogatório.

O condutor do camião contou ao Daily Mail que George Michael «parecia estar completamente desorientado, como se não tivesse noção do que aconteceu», acrescentando que o cantor tentou subir à cabine do veículo.

Onlookers feared the star was dead as he sat in the wrecked vehicle for ten minutes, said The Sun.

The 46-year-old had only just got his licence back after a two-year ban for drug driving in 2007.

He was taken into custody by police and questioned on suspicion of driving while under the influence of drink or drugs and released around five hours later without charge.

The lorry driver, Laurie Rowe, told the Daily Mail: "He seemed completely disorientated, like he had no idea what was going on.

"He looked totally dazed and even tried to climb into the cab of my lorry. He kept saying he was worried he would go to jail."

Mr Rowe, from Scotland, said he saw the silver 4x4 weaving from one side of the road to the other in his rear view mirror seconds before the crash.

He said the impact was so great he feared the driver was dead.

"He hit me so hard that it knocked my rear axle two feet up in the air," he said.

"When I stopped the lorry and got out to see what had happened, I didn't think he would have survived."

In June 2007, Michael was banned for two years and sentenced to 100 hours' community service after he admitted driving under the influence of drugs.

He was found slumped at the wheel of his Mercedes with a cocktail of legal and illegal drugs in his system.

In May 2004, he wrote off his BMW on the A40 in Acton, west London, and crashed into railings."

The pop star, 45, left his 5million London mansion with partner Kenny Goss and six large suitcases and holdalls last night.

He has been in hiding since his arrest on Friday for possession of Class A and C drugs, which followed a tip-off from a lavatory attendant near Hampstead Heath.

Police decided to take no further action after he 'showed remorse' and said it would ruin his career and stop him touring in the US.

Michael played the final date of a two-year tour at Earls Court last month and is not due to play again until an Aids benefit with Dita Von Teese in Texas next month.

Now he has decided to take time out after 'screwing up again' and promised to 'sort myself out', leaving last night without speaking to waiting media outside. Michael's publicist said: 'We don't know where he's going.'

An onlooker said: 'They looked like they were going away for some time with the amount of luggage they had. They checked all the locks and made sure the lights were switched off too, all the things you do before you go abroad.'

The couple were driven in a BMW to a private airfield at Luton Airport run by Harrods.
